ANKENMAN RANCH UPDATE
Purebred Tarentaise Cattle
Miami, Oklahoma
Thank you for your interest in our Tarentaise Cattle, our operation, and the business of ranching in general.

This UPDATE will include the following:

1. There He is Again
2. Internet Sale by the Pot load
3. Haying?
4. Working Cattle-Slide Show
5. A Sign of the Times
6. Backwards Calf-Slide Show
5. Bull Battery and Heifer Brigade Continues

1. There He is Again.
I didn't intend to take another picture of AA Kosmo, I have a growing folder of good pictures of him.

While actively trying to position and photograph another bull, I glanced back at Kosmo. Another photo? Why not!  Why not, indeed.

AA Kosmo continues to be a dominate influence in our herd, as well as developing a quasi celebrity status.

2. Internet Sale by the Pot load
It's 7:00 am on an early June morning.  We have sold a pot load of Tarentaise steers via an internet auction.

3. Haying?
This collage is not the real "picture" of our summer weather pattern.  It's been rainy. That's an understatement. We have very little hay up and what we do have, has been rained on.

On the flip side, our pastures are deep and lush and our cattle are fat and comfortable in the cooler, wetter climate.

4. Working Cattle-Slide Show

Ever wonder what is means to "work" cattle?  Here is a 10 photo slide show of a days work.

5.  A Sign of the Times

Just keeping our ranch sign in tune with the times!

6.  Backwards Calf-Slide Show

This spring, I helped my husband pull a calf. Turned out to be a backwards calf. The cow was gentle, the calf was fine and I took as many photos as time would allow.

The gaps in the process are when I put down the camera and jumped in to help!

5. Bull Battery and Heifer Brigade Continues.
Need a bull? Check out our selection of yearling bulls. And there are 15 more baby bulls coming on strong.

Ankenman Ranch will have a good selection of spring heifers, weaned in October. http://www.ankenmanranch.com/featured.htm

Have a great summer,

Chris and Sandy Ankenman
